Causes of Blocked Tubes

Have you been trying to have a child for a while? It could be the blocked tubes that are stopping you from conceiving. Blocked tubes are hard to detect, but they can happen. You should go to a gen 5 fertility center to find out what the main causes of blocked tubes are and whether it is what is blocking you from conceiving.

There are many different factors that can cause a blocked tube. If the egg or sperm doesn’t make it through the tubes, there is no chance that an embryo will form and birth will not take place.

Let us now see into the main causes of blocked tubes.

1. Endometriosis

In most cases, the endometrial tissues are found growing on the ovaries. This may cause the fallopian tubes to become blocked due to the build-up of endometrial tissues lining the tubes.

2. Pelvic inflammatory disease

Pelvic inflammatory disease is also known as pelvic infection, and it is a condition caused by bacterial infections in your uterus, ovaries, or fallopian tubes. When this happens, the cervix becomes swollen and inflamed. PID can cause infertility in women of childbearing age, particularly in young women who still have not had children.

3. Chlamydia and gonorrhea

Chlamydia and gonorrhea are two common sexually transmitted infections (STIs) that can cause infertility. A woman is most likely to become infertile if she has chlamydia or gonorrhea for a long period of time. This is because these STIs can cause damage to the fallopian tubes, leading to blocked tubes.

4. Ectopic pregnancy

When the egg gets fertilized outside the uterus, it is known as an ectopic pregnancy. It is a condition that can be life-threatening for the pregnant mother. An ectopic pregnancy is dangerous because the fertilized egg cannot survive in the fallopian tube. This can lead to blocked tubes.

5. Uterine fibroids

Many women experience uterine fibroids along with mild to moderate pain. Uterine fibroids are noncancerous (benign) tumors that grow inside the uterus. These fibroids can cause infertility if they grow too large or continue to grow in size over a long period. They can also make it difficult for other organs in the reproductive system to work normally.

6. Previous gynecological surgery

Some people who have had surgery on their reproductive system may experience blocked tubes. A woman who has experienced a cesarean section is more likely to have tubal blockages than a woman who has delivered her baby through the vagina.
